navigation bars from frames page

Someone was kind enough to answer my question, but the suggested work-around
did not work. I have a page with three frames, including a banner target
page. I'm trying to put a navigation bar on this banner page, but was told
that FrontPage will not allow it.

The responder suggested entering the words I want to use, inserting a
hyperlink to them, and that would solve the problem as a work-around.

I tried this, and the same thing happens. The page I'm hyperlinking to
opens in one of the three frames which are on the page which I originally set
up. But, I can't get back to the home page, I'm trying to open as a full
page display.

Can someone give me more than a one sentence answer on how to solve this
problem/

When you create your hyperlink, in the hyperlink dialogue box set the
frame target to _top (whole page).
This is very difficult to express in more than one sentence :)
Also, read the Help on hyperlinks - search Help for Target Frame,
remember the target you want is
_top (whole page)

Hi,
I had a similar problem and got the same advice re _top but it didn't clear
my problem. Eventually I took a good look at my file/folder structure. For
some reason, which I can't say I understand, frame page menus will not return
to any page that is in a different folder. In my case I had a photo gallery
with its .htm page in its own folder and I couldn't get the menu to go back
properly to any page other than those in the gallery folder. Moving the
gallery htm page into the main site folder cleared the problem. You have to
do a bit of coding to make sure that the moved page still can find its bits &
pieces in the original folder.
Don't ask to to explain why but it cured the problem for me.
Good luck,

FP navigation components are not designed to be use with frames.
