NAVIGATION BARS & URL????

Steve

Hi...

Just starting with FP and I used NAVIGATION to link to several small
sub-pages I created. No problem!

Now I want to add another "button" to my "navigation bar running vertically
on left"... but I want to direct it to a specific website that already
exists... for instance... www.microsoft.com. I've tried to add "Custom Link
Bar" but it doesn't give me any options to work with!

Would someone please give me some quick help... or point me to a site where
I can get smart on this little annoyance!

Thanks in advance
Steve

You should NOT have to add another Link Bar to accomplish
this. The term "Link Bar" refers to the whole set of
navigation buttons not a single button.

Go into the navigation view of Front Page. Add another
link (not link bar). Set this link's properties (right
click, Properties) to point to the URL of your desire.

I hope this points you in the proper direction.

Hi Rick...

I have FrontPage 2002... clicking NAVIGATION, on left-toolbar, shows me a
little flow diagram of my little site. I highlighted the top-most
(INDEX.HTM), right-click, NEW and get PAGE and CUSTOM LINK BAR as only
choices. Either choice adds one more sub-page square but neither gives me
the opportunity to enter in an existing URL.

I just tried your example but PROPERTIES showed the actual location in grey.
Am I in the wrong spot or something?

Thanks for replying

When you right click, there should be an option to "add existing page" or
"add external page" or similar terminology. This is the choice to add an
external web page to the navigation.

Ron (and Rick)...

Thanks for your responses!

The "Add Existing Page" option worked. I originally thought that meant to
"add MY exisiting" page but, after trying it, it makes sense to "add ANY
existing" page.
