Navigation crash

Hi: Can someone please help? I have recently installed a trial copy of FP2002. Everything seems to work fine until I try to add navigation bars from the navigation structure. Once the bars have been added I can view pages in browser view and they all work fine, but when I try to close page/web or exit FP I receive the message ‘FrontPage encountered a problem and is shutting down’. The pages created are still available in My Docs and can be seen (working correctly) in browser view, but if I try to open them in FP page view, I receive a System Exception Excess Violation message and the system crashes. I have created a simple three page web leaving all pages blank except for page title and navigation, this works fine. If I do the same, but apply a theme to the pages, System crash. I have removed and reinstalled FP, no success. I have also applied the following attempted fixes without success
Deleted files cmdUI.pre
Deleted all .web file
Removed Registry Key, HKEY_CURRENT USER-SoftwareMicrosoftFrontPag
My OS is XP and all up to dat
Would installing a new FP2003 version help or would the problem carry over?
Any advice please before I pull out what’s left of my hair

Have you done a reinstall of the Trial (presuming it's still in the valid time frame), and also
- Run a Repair on IE
(see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=318378 )
- Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, MS Office and your Video card
(Windows Update and Office Update sites, plus your video card supplier site)
- Open FP and Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins,
- Open your FP Web/Site and run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks

Thanks for your response. Yes I re-installed the trial copy. This copy is still current. One interesting thing, on the first install of FP2002 I modified some themes, even though I completely removed the program prior to re-install, these modified themes came back. May seem a silly question but what are FP Addins and where exactly do I find them? Thanks again.

Modified themes (as well as any web content created) are saved and not affected by a reinstall

If you have any addins you can find it in Tools Addins

Thanks again for advice. I have done everything suggested (twice) and re-installed FP for a third time. Still no joy. I have attempted to find a support person, who could come to my site and check things out. Still no joy. Any chance that installing FP 2003 would fix the problem? Any other suggestions would be much appreciated. Regards

Since you have snipped (or not included) any prior messages, afraid no one can tell what your original problem was

After the steps you went thru did you Reinstall the FP trial
and then use these other usual repairs in the sequence below:
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
Usually in C:\WINDOWS\Temp and / or
C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Local Settings\Temp
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files Usually in
C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache
3) Run a Repair on IE
(see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=318378 )
4) Install all Service Packs for IE, MS Office and your Video card
(Windows Update and Office Update sites, plus your video card supplier site)
5) Open your FP Web/Site and run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks
