After the steps you went thru did you Reinstall the FP trial
and then use these other usual repairs in the sequence below:
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
Usually in C:\WINDOWS\Temp and / or
C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Local Settings\Temp
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files Usually in
C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache
3) Run a Repair on IE

4) Install all Service Packs for IE, MS Office and your Video card
(Windows Update and Office Update sites, plus your video card supplier site)
5) Open your FP Web/Site and run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks

| Hi: Can someone please help? I have recently installed a trial copy of FP2002. Everything seems to work fine until I try to add
navigation bars from the navigation structure. Once the bars have been added I can view pages in browser view and they all work
fine, but when I try to close page/web or exit FP I receive the message ‘FrontPage encountered a problem and is shutting down’.
The pages created are still available in My Docs and can be seen (working correctly) in browser view, but if I try to open them in
FP page view, I receive a System Exception Excess Violation message and the system crashes. I have created a simple three page web
leaving all pages blank except for page title and navigation, this works fine. If I do the same, but apply a theme to the pages,
System crash. I have removed and reinstalled FP, no success. I have also applied the following attempted fixes without success:
| Deleted files cmdUI.pref
| Deleted all .web files
| Removed Registry Key, HKEY_CURRENT USER-SoftwareMicrosoftFrontPage
| My OS is XP and all up to date
| Would installing a new FP2003 version help or would the problem carry over?
| Any advice please before I pull out what’s left of my hair.

attempted to find a support person, who could come to my site and check things out. Still no joy. Any chance that installing FP 2003
would fix the problem? Any other suggestions would be much appreciated. Regards
