Navigation Lost: after copying with a CD-Rom;

S

Stephen

Hi,

I'm using Frontpage 2002 and Windows XP

I have a copy of an entire website on a CD-Rom. When I
view it on the CD-Rom the navigation works perfect.

However, when I copy the contents of the CD-Rom to my
hard drive somehow the navigation is lost.

I've tried publishing the website from the CD-Rom
directly but I get the following message: "FrontPage
needs to add information to your folder in order to help
manage your Hyperlinks and other site content. Do you
want to add FrontPage information to "D:"?" I click
on "Yes" and I get the error, "Cannot create
folder "_vti_pvt"."

Should I just copy the CD-Rom to a CD-RW so that it
can 'write' the _vti_pvt folder?

I'm really at a loss. Any help would be appreciated. I
apologize if this question has already been answered
numerous times. I already searched the newgroups and
didn't find anything.

Thanks,
Stephen

You have to copy the content to a folder on your HD, then open the folder in Windows Explorer and
select all files and folders and then remove the read-only attribute, then open the folder in FP.
