According to on-line help for Microsoft Outlook 2003: You cannot rearrange
the panes within the Navigation Pane. For example, Favorite Folders is
available only in the Mail pane and cannot be removed, hidden, or resized. It
also cannot be displayed in other panes, such as Folder List.
Users would feel that they have more control over their Outlook environment
if the Favorite Folders selection of the Mail Pane were separated out and had
its own pane (i.e.: Favorite Folders Pane) and they could place the
information stores (personal folders, local folders, mailboxes) of the mail
pane in the order they wish to see them (similar to the way the main levels
of a favorites list can be moved around).
Furthermore, the user should have the ability to control whether or not the
Favorite Folders pane is viewed in the Navigation Pane.
Lastly, the Navigation option dialog box should provide the user with the
ability to set the font size, color, etc. of items displayed within the pane
(pane name, information store name, folder name)
