I am trying to upload my web design to my website: amberrayann.exofire.net
but when I do upload it, my navigation bars do not show up. How can I get
them to show up? Any suggestion would be a big help!

Thank you!

The only thing I see is a blank page with the following code:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<HTML><HEAD>
<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html;
charset=windows-1252"></HEAD>
<BODY></BODY></HTML>

Ask Spike suggests, there is nothing visible on your site, let alone the
navbar at http://amberrayann.exofire.net/

Without more information it is hard to help you, but one thing to keep in
mind is that you do not put the navbar or any other design element on the
Master Page in a Publisher web document. That would prevent the navbar from
being visible.

Here is a general reference: Prepare, publish, and maintain your Publisher
Web site:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/publisher/HA100947601033.aspx
It is written for Pub 2007, but if you are using IE7 instead of IE6, then
the directions for using Vista would apply for Pub 2003. FTP uploading has
changed with the introduction of IE7. Pay particular attention to the
instructions for FTP uploading in Vista. You can probably modify these to
use HTTP and mapping a network drive.

If you need more help, post back with which version of Publisher you are
using, which version of IE and which operating system, and as many details
as possible.

I am actually using IE 8 and have Microsoft Publisher 2007, but I was
wondering..I never thought of using a master page for anything. Can you
please explain what it is and why I need it? If I do need it, can you tell
me what all I really need on it?

Thank you!

There has been three reports thus far that Publisher webs are not viewing
correctly with the IE8 beta. However, this hasn't been an issue with
producing the web files. Hopefully MSFT will either fix IE8 or Publisher
before they release the final version of IE8.

Are you suggesting that your site is totally blank because of IE8? Did you
actually upload the index.htm file and the index_files folder, and the blank
page is what you get? What happens on your local computer when you do a web
page preview? Is that when you can't see the navbar? If you could provide a
few more details it would be appreciated, as this incompatibility issue with
IE8 beta is something we need to deal with quickly.

As per the Master Page if you go to View > Master Page in your Publisher
publication, then if that is blank then you are not using the Master Page.
The Master Page feature is a nice feature where you have some common design
elements for each page, but it only works correctly for print documents. If
indeed you have put the navbar on the Master Page you need to move it to the
main page.

When I do show the web page preview, the navigation bar doesn't show up there
as well. I tried to put the navigation bar in the content library (thinking
maybe it would work) but it didn't work. I am also unsure of the
index_files, how can I add that to my website and where do I find it?

Please read the article I referenced for the basics and that will answer
your question about the index_files folder:

You may also need to go back to IE7 and wait for MSFT to work out the bugs
with the beta for IE8.

I know I am probably getting annoying but I was just wondering about the
navigation bar. How do I make it show up on my website?
