have a couple of users getting this NDR to a specific domain:
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
Subject: test email
Sent: 8/1/2003 1:33 PM
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
'(e-mail address removed)' on 8/1/2003 1:33 PM
Unable to deliver the message due to a communications failure
The MTS-ID of the original message is: c=US;a=
;p=XXXXX;l=SERVER1-030801173249Z-1910
MSEXCH:IMS:XXXXX:XXXXX_HQ:SERVER2 3902 (000B09B6) Host Unknown
I can't tell what kind of SMTP server is on the other end, and it doesn't
respond to HELO or EHLO, but from the telnet prompt will allow you to
continue anyway. The message being sent is from Exchange 5.5, SP4, store
version 2653.23version . This is not urgent, but it is kinda weird, I'd like
to clear this up for my users. No, I'm not open for relay, or listed on any
3rd party RBLs, at least the 8 or so that I checked. I am sending mail thru
the firewall, but not forwarding to an SMTP host. There's no content filter
on the email. AV software is Scanmail 3.53 and norton 810825 & 4207
I am able to successfully pull all the records in DNS for the remote domain,
so I don't believe it's a DNS issue, but hey, who knows? Anybody out there
can clue me in, I'm listening. quick answer will get you even more points, I
have a few to spare![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
