Necessary to update to Apple Quicktime 7.0.4 for vulnerabilities?

US-CERTs Alert issued Cyber Security Alert indicating that Apple Quicktime
has vulnerabilities and to download Apple Quicktime 7.0.4 to correct. My
Windows XP has version 5.03.30. Has Microsoft issued a patch for this
vulnerability? According to Windows Update I am up to date. Is such an update
necessry or advisable?
