Ned Product Key Help

B

Bobbee

Is someone does not help me soon, I am ready to hang
myself.

The problem is simple: I need an id key for MSOffice.
Yes, we had one, but with school just now starting, my
son needs to actually USE MSWord 2003. but no, he cannot
find the disc.

I wrote to Dell. They told me to write to MS. I wrote
to MS, they told me to write to Dell. So it went for a
few days. Finally, Dell explains that because it's the
2003 version, I MUST go right to MS. MS won't even let
me ask a question as soon as they see "oem" in the
product id.

HELPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!

OEM support is down to the supplier, in yr case Dell
MS do not support OEM software, even if it is MS, unless perhaps you pay for
support.
Think of the cd/install key like yr car keys, you lose the only set, yr in
for some expense.
but yes - I know what kids are like, generally v.tidy!!!!!!
-Dont hang yr self, beat yr kid up!

Bobbee,
Dell is responsible for any and all software installed on your oem system.
Since you cannot find the installation media, call Dell and request another
disk. We have had good results with them via email. Found that this was a
better approach than waiting on hold...
Our new disk or disks usually ship within 2-3 business days. We always
request new application and media disks before our warranties expire even if
we have the originals. Just to keep them honest if nothing else.
By requesting a new "Applications installed on this computer" disk or disks,
you should be provided with a new product key code.
Please keep in mind that if you do install the new cd's, it will partition
your drive for the new install and any information from the previous install
will probably be un accessable so make a backup first of all important files.
Heck of a way to get back to productivity for just a lost oem Office
installation product key code...
