Hi guys,
I hope someone can help. I'm using Word 2007 and I'm looking to get a
checkbox on a document (easy enough with either a legacy control
checkbox or activex checkbox), the problem begins when I save the
document as a PDF for accessibility purposes and use a screen reader
to read the document back for the visually impaired. When the screen
reader runs through the document, if the checkbox if set up as a
legacy checkbox (form field) then the text is read but the checkbox is
completely ignored. If the checkbox is an activex control then the
screen reader completely ignores the checkbox and the associated text.
What I think I need is the ability to add some alt text to the control
using code rather than using the properties window. If someone knows
how that might be accomplished or has a better idea then I'm all ears.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
