i would like to find a nice templete that is set for excel`or one note where
i can keep track of the homes i have in production (25 to 40 homes at one
time and at least 120 for the year)to better manage my time. i'll use to
watch for inspections & to make sure i don't miss any crucial procedures, or
forget to order products that i would need to keep the home moving to get
closed! then i would also like to move homes around on the spread sheet.

A Project application would be better suited for this as the dependencies
can get quite involved - there are some freeware applications and there is
always Microsoft Project. I think you are looking for the wrong solution
for your problem - project tracking, while easily done in OneNote for single
entries, may not provide you with the overall project view that you migh
require for a housing project.

We use OneNote for project and client management at a fairly basic/informal
level (simple notes and to-do items) but it sounds to me that you want to do
something considerably more involved. In that case I agree with Milly that
you'd probably be happier with a purpose-built application like Project
which is more structured.
