Need assistance with Office 2003 Updates

A

Andrea Carter

I just spent a lot of time downloading all the "recommended" updates for
Office 2003. I have just recently upgraded to Office 2003 Standard Edition
which only has Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint. After all the files were
downloaded, and the install process commenced, I was asked for the disk
containing Front Page, which of course I don't have. Is there a way to get
around this?

Thanks!
Andrea

Hi, Andrea,

You probably have a previous version of FrontPage installed. Check the
Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs applet and uninstall it if you don't
need it any longer.

Otherwise, insert the installation media for it when prompted.

An upgrade doesn't necessarily remove every component of a previous version.

See if this helps:

Thanks Susan, it turns out there were "remnants" of a previously installed
version of Front Page that had been removed before I started using this
computer. I did get some help from Microsoft Technical Support in getting it
removed and the updates were then able to be completely installed.
