Need blank 3x5 picture template for use in Word

I write about my travels and want to have a blank template that I can insert
into the document which will be a place holder for pictures. I want to be
able to write and format the pages and have a simple way to insert the blank
box without having to draw one each time. Some of the pictures will be pasted
into the blank place holder space.
I tried doing one and saving as auto text but it doesn't work too well.
Also tried to do a macro, but didn't know how to do it either.Any suggestions
will be appreciated/

A table cell with exact height and width is your best bet.
