Is there any way to get the behavior of direct booking to
apply to a normal mailbox? I am setting up an automated
processing agent for another program that will send
appointments to users. I want them to automatically post
to the calendar - users do not want to review individual
email to accept/deny, etc. I've been all over trying to
find an answer to this one, and I keep coming up that it
only works if the appointment is scheduled for a resource
account. I'm not sure that 1) my automated process knows
how to send to the user as a resource (I'm checking that
one out separately), or 2) that I won't have undesireable
behavior if I am able to book them as resources.
I run into this with some frequency - users who want
calendar items to be accepted automatically - they review
their calendar constantly and don't want the extra step
of accepting the message or seeing their inboxes filled
with calendar item requests.
This particular setup is using Exchange 2003 with Outlook
2002 (XP).
Any help or pointers to more information would be greatly
appreciated!
