Need Entourage settings after upgrading to new i7 MBP

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange Howdy,

I have a valid license for Mac Office 2008 that I have been running on my late 07 MBP. I recently upgraded to a new i7 MBP and installed my Office 2008 on the new machine. I got my Entourage settings nearly correct with the Exchange server at work; I can receive email but I get an error when I try and send email. I went back to the old MBP and none of my Office apps will open because I am using the same product on 2 different machines...OK, I get why the software won't open and that is fine except I need to get the Entourage/Exchange settings from the old mac.

I did a bit of googling and found this link:

http://forums.macworld.com/index.php?/topic/88365-entourage-transfer-to-new-mac/

Will the work for Entourage 08 or is there some other means to move the Exchange settings?

THx!

Hi Von,

here's what I would suggest:

quit Entourage on your new MacBook Pro, then open it on your other
machine to make sure it downloads all the latest mail messages and any
other data that you may have modified on the Exchange account. When you
have done that, switch back to the new MacBook Pro, then open Activity
Monitor (use Spotlight if you don't know where to find it). Look for a
process called "Microsoft Database Daemon", and quit it. Note that this
will only work if no Office application is running.

Once you've done that, transfer the following folder
(~/Documents/Microsoft User Data) from your old Mac to the Documents
folder on your new Mac. If you now start Entourage on your new Mac, you
should have all your data, as well as all your account settings (though
you may be asked to re-enter your Exchange password).
