Need for Office Update installation patch files

S

Suzanne

I seem to have the same problem Sandra does. It appears
that when my Office "check for updates" gets to 83% it
tells me that I don't have the installation patch files
(.msp). I've tried to reinstall/repair my Office
(Windows Professional Edition 2003) program and it tells
me that I don't have the patch files in my directory to
run the install. Dell -- from whom I purchased the
computer -- can't seem to help me. They don't know what
I am talking about. Microsoft won't help me because I
purchased the computer and software from Dell. Does
ANYBODY out there have a solution?

Many thanks.

Suzanne

This problem is most likely caused by a connection issue to one of our
servers. Many times this can happen because a firewall or Anti-virus
program is blocking a connection. If you are running through a proxy server
this could also cause a problem. Try adding http://office.microsoft.com to
your trusted sites in Internet Explorer. (Tools -> Internet Options ->
Security -> Trusted Sites) Also try disabling your firewall and/or
anti-virus software. Then try to go to the site again.

If you have Office Professional Edition 2003 as the only Office product on
your computer you most likely need Office 2003 SP1 which can be downloaded
at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...A6-7CB1-4F61-837E-5F938254FC47&displaylang=en

Hopefully you've found this information helpful. Please feel free to post
if this helped you or if you have any additional questions.

Thanks,
Ryan
