need for Outlook Express

I am running Office 2000 Pro on a 2K Pro install. With the large number of patches to fix Outlook Express am wondering if there is a reason not to uninstall it. It looks like it installs with Windows.

Just download the patches and then don't worry about it. Uninstalling OE is
not a good idea and would take you more time than downloading the patches
and upgrades.

Outlook requires that Outlook Express be installed as is uses shared .dlls
for rendering HTML for instance.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate everyone’s willingness to help. I have also learned that Outlook uses Outlook Express to access Newsgroups.

We have several servers running applications that use Outlook for notification. I am not comfortable with this but little can be done. Your input has been helpful in determining if our use of Outlook permits removing Outlook express

P.S. I know everyone should search before ask but how do you know I did a google search?
