Need form help please.

I'm using FrontPage 2002, remote hosting service with FP 2002 extensions
installed, Windows XP Pro.

Can someone tell me where I can find a detailed tutorial on how to
create a form that will let my customers upload audio dictation files to
my remote web site plus notify me via e-mail when a customer has
uploaded an audio file. That e-mail would need to tell me the name of
the customer, their e-mail address, and file name (file name is
optional).

More information about (don't know if this makes any difference): My
e-mail and hosting accounts are from different unrelated companies. My
current e-mail box size is 55 MB. There is over 900 MB free space with
my host service. My web host does not provide ftp service.

Why I want to do this. Some of my customers' e-mail accounts won't let
them send file attachments that are over a certain size or they travel
and can't connect to their primary e-mail account. Some customers don't
want to use WinZip 8 or other software that would break down those large
audio files into manageable e-mail size segments.

A detailed tutorial on how I can do this or even optional ideas would be
appreciated. Remember, I'm not real swift when it comes to brain power.

Thanks!!!.

If your host allows, you can use the FP Upload component, however it is limited to files of less
than 1 MB in size. The files would be uploaded to a folder within your web site from which you would
have to then download them to your HD.

As far as receiving email from your web site via form, unless you are already doing this, may not
work as some host only allow email from a web site to be sent to an email address within the web
site's domain, i.e., (e-mail address removed). Also some email services will not accept email from a
web site.

You should check with your host to see what option they have available to allow your site visitors
to upload files, as server-side scripting solution may be a better approach then using the FP Upload
component.

Tom, thanks for the replay. There are a few things in your message I can check out; maybe there will be
a solution to this yet.
