Hi There in Cyberspace:

Here is my problem. Used MS Publisher 2003 to make a web site. Realised I
should maybe have used FrontPage instead but too late now. Will re-do it
later on when have more time in FrontPage.

My Web site has 9 pages.

Signed up with third party - Godaddy.com.

Managed to upload my work onto Godaddy.com

Used WS_FTP Pro to upload.

Uploaded also all pictures onto Godaddy.

Now here is problem:

When I go on the net to see my web site:

1. I can only see my firts page and this page has no backgroud color
2. Can't see pages 2 - 9
3. Pictures don't show up
4. It's not centered but found out that with MS Publisher it's the best you
can do. So I can live with that.

Would appreciate some help please in how to solve those problems.

Many thanks

Jacques

I use Publisher 2000 but I think it may be the same for you.

While in Publisher and you are done editing, creating, whatever, did you do
a

File
Save as a web page

Then exit Publisher, saving when prompted.

Now you upload all of the html and gif files.

Now you should be able to online and see your web pages.

Been there, done that!

If you do not use the built in upload function, you have to manually
make a directory on the server to match the "index_files" directory
that Publisher makes. Then switch BOTH the upload directory and the
server directory to the index_files directory. Copy all of the files
from your machine to the server.

You can keep checking the server progress by reloading the web site in
another window with the browser loaded. This takes a little more time
than you might expect, Publisher is not known for small files!

At some point in time, you are going to want to take advantage of the
Front Page Extentions. To do that, you will need to upload with the
built-in FTP function of Publisher.

You will also need to turn on the Front Page Extentions at
GoDaddy.com. When you sign in there you can turn them on & off
yourself.

I use FrontPage and Publisher both.
My Church Newsletter is done with Publisher and can be seen at

Let me know if you need more info....
I prefer to work through the newsgroup, the email address I use here
is trashed by spam.

OK problem solved after burning midnight oil to find solution.

When working with MS Publisher, it creates a file called index_files na
dputs all images, clor background, etc, in there. It needed this file. So I
upload it and voila problems solved.

Many thanks for all your help.
