Need help creating trigger animation with VBA

I tried to use the trigger function in Powerpoint 2003 and can not becuase my
objects are overlapped. I then tried to use macros and VBA but I can't get
either to work plus I am unfamilar with the VBA language. I found numerous
sites that provide code samples but these samples do not work becuase of the
number of items i need triggered on mouse click. I am eager to learn VBA so
that i can get the things that I need done but can not find any books or
information in a user friendly format. Please advise as I am stuck and I need
to get this project done for work.

Hi,
It would be best if you include the scenario you are trying to create using
triggers and based on it would be able to suggest the best approach - native
triggers or vba macros.

As far as books go, there are lots of books about VBA, but none of them
give much attention to VBA in PowerPoint. Unfortunately, my book is the
only one that deals directly with VBA and PowerPoint, but I suspect that
it will not take you as far as you want to go (it is really for
beginners).

Thanks for the response. Here is the scenario. I have four objects that
triggers another set of objects. Once you click on the second set of objects
it triggers another set of objects. The problem is that the second set of
objects overlap each other so i can't click on them. I can only click on the
outside of the image to get it to work and since this is for electrinic
training i have to have it functional and at this point it is not. I hope i
explained it well enough. If not i will try to explain it again.

I already looked at the PPT FAQ and it does not help as much as i would like
it to. I have looked at almost every site that i could find on VBA for
Powerpoint.

Your book sounds promising, however, it seems to be a tad bit expensive so
i will try to find it at a more resonable price.

Since this is for e-leaerning purposes clicking on it is the best option and
the only way to create an interactive enviornment that the powers that be
have requested. I am not sure if a command button will solve the problem.
With triggers the user knows that they can click on the object as the hand
appears once you mouse over it. I am not sure of any other way to produce the
hand so that the user knows the item is clickable. On top of that, if the
user clicks a head I can not make the triggers occur again. This will cause
problems as well becuase the interactiove enviornment does not work as it
should.

Jaden,
Which version of PowerPoint are you using? Failure of triggers with
overlapping shapes is a known problem but I haven't been able to reproduce
it with the latest service packs.

You are right that the book is too expensive (check out the second
comment about it on Amazon.com; I agree with that part of the comment).
Unfortunately, the publisher set the price, and this publisher is used to
selling high-priced textbooks. I also haven't seen a lot of used copies
around so I don't know if you can get it for much cheaper. I bet they
would have sold 3 times as many copies if they charged half the price. Oh
well. In the meantime, you can look at all the examples from the book on
my Web site; you just don't get the explanations.
