need help installing speech recognition

Karenc

I have tried to install speech recognition in MS word (office professional
2003) and I keep getting a message stating: The feature you are trying to use
is on a network resource that is unavailable. It says I can enter an
alternative path to a folder containing the installation package PRO11.MSI
which I can't find anywhere. I have tried a custom installation and get the
same message. It starts to install and about a third of the way through it
stops and comes up with the message I also get an 1706 error message that
states setup cannot find requied files (this happens when I try to continue
setup). Please advise. thanks
Karen

It should be on your Office 2003 installation disc.

Ifr this is a full version of Word and not merely the trial version that is
usually installed - ask the supplier for a copy of the application on disc.
If it is a trial, you can download the files
http://www.microsoft.com/office/editions/prodinfo/standardtrial.mspx
In fact if you downloads and save these files to your hard drive you could
probably point the problematic installer to those downloaded files. You will
need a broadband connection for this to be practical as it is a 228 mb file!
