Need help migrating Publisher 2002 to a new computer

Our church bought a new computer with XP Professional pre-installed. I am
charged with moving the applications from the old XP computer. I was able to
install Publisher fine and thought I had copied over all the clipart.
However, the Clip Organizer does not show the Favorites folder and all its
contents. Our secretary is not pleased. I have found the MStore10.mgc file on
the old computer but the new one does not have an Applications Data folder in
the user's area of Documents and Settings. What is the best way to ensure the
new installation has the same clipart as the old one?

Where did the clipart come from? Did you have a media disk? Publisher 2002 came
with a media disk that contained all the clipart. The media disk had its own
setup file that installed the Organizer and the clipart.

It isn't only the Mstore10.mgc (Clip Organizer) that resides in the Application
Data folder, a myriad of folders should be there. Have you created profiles?

Are you sure you installed the Organizer?

Thanks for your quick response. I have tried to answer the questions as they
appear.

She has clipart from many sources, mostly downloaded. I don't think she used
much from the media disk as it is mostly religious.

There are four user accounts. Normally, XP has an Application Data folder
for each one in addition to all users, default user and owner. She did not
have an application data folder. I need to verify for the others.

Can I simply create the Application Data folder and copy the Mstore10.mgc
file to it without creating additional problems elsewhere? I understand that
having the .mgc file without the images is not a solution. However, I have
tried to re-create the file structure on the new computer so the paths should
be correct for everything actually migrated.
Are you sure you installed the Organizer?

I thought I did a complete installation. The Organizer link appears on the
form but the favorites folder is not present when the Organizer is opened.

I appreciate your help. You should color me embarassed for not remembering to
check the "View Hidden Files" on the folder options. After doing that, I saw
the required folders. I copied the old Mstore10.mgc file into the Clip
Organizer folder but that only led to a seek error: 0x80030019. I will be
working on that, now.
Does anyone have a tutorial or "How To" on moving Publisher collections from
one computer to another?

I talked with the secretary. All the items in the Favorites folder are on the
hard drive, whether downloaded from elsewhere or not. She used the folder to
make them easier to get to. The Favorites folder contains numerous
subfolders. I think everything is on the new PC. Can I do one of the
following (in decreasing order of desirability)

1. import the old Mstore10.mgc to work on the new computer? The direct copy
did not work. If it should have worked, then troubleshooting suggestions
would be appreciated;

2. use Clip Organizer to create a new folder on the old computer which
contains the actual images then copy that folder to the new computer and
create a collection in the Clip Organizer from that folder;

3. list the paths to the images referenced in the Favorites folder so I can
manually create a new Favorites folder -- there are literally thousands of
images so this is the least desirable.

I did not put in SP3 yet but will do so. It may help to have the latest bug
fixes installed.

Thanks for your generous help.

The Organizer will go out and find all your clipart. File, add clips to
Organizer

You can create a favorites folder within the Organizer, drag any clip into the
folder, the keywords will move with the clip.

I assume when you installed Publisher a new .mgc was created, have you tried
naming it .old and then copying the catalog file from the old computer?

Your best solution is to install the Organizer from the media disk if you have
it. Any custom clipart will have to be cataloged again with keywords.

Copying the old catalog over does not work. I get a seek error: 0x80030019.
The favorites folder has 82 sub-folders with a total of 5234 items. Our
secretary will be very upset to have to manually re-create this folder. I
have seen this link. While it is useful in describing how the program works
it, unfortunately, provides no help with this problem.
