How can we access Mailbox calendar, contacts and tasks
data offline? And how can we sync Mailbox calendar,
contacts, task, and shared public folder task data with a
PDA (Pocket PC running MS ActiveSync)?
I've spent many hours trying to figure this one out. The
closest I've come is through activesync on the PDA, where
the PDA syncs directly with the server. But this doesn't
allow for sync'ing task data or shared public folder
data. I also have no idea how to access data offline. The
offline synchronization process seems to be working
correctly and is putting data into the *.ost folder, but
I have no idea how to access this data. If I try to open
a Mailbox folder while disconnected from the network I
receive a "Unable to display the folder. Microsoft
Outlook could not access the specified folder location.
Network problems are preventing connection to the
Microsoft Exchange Server computer." error. How can I
work offline?
This is what we are trying to do:
Share team member's individual calendars (where each
person can view anyone else's calendar)
Create and share group tasks (where the task is server-
side and visible, editable to anyone on the team)
Create and share group contacts folder
Sync this calendar, task and contacts data with a Pocket
PC.
Work offline on laptops with the Mailbox data and have it
sync back with the server.
Is this possible? And if it is, what are the specific
steps to enable this? Any help you can provide would be
greatly appreciated.
