need help to control Markup

I use Word quite a lot but have no training.
So just now I was creating a document, and I must have hit the magic
combination of keys because now when I type into my doc, red type,
some with lines thru it appear. What ever new I try to write is red.
If I open the View Menu, and un hilight Markup, the red type goes
away, but as soon as I try to resume writing, the red type comes back
and if I look in the View menu, Markup is once again highlighted.

Mybe this would be a handy feature, if I knew how to control it, but
right now I am unable to.
I think while I was searching around I saw a place where it asked for
whose markup i wanted to be able to view; me and the other choice was
all users. since I'm the only user, maybe i got to de-dselect this.
hope i can find where it is again
HELP (please!)

The key combination you hit would be Ctrl+Shift+E, which toggles Track Changes
on and off. We've been arguing with the Microsoft developers that this feature
confuses lots of people, and the most confusing thing is that it's called
different things in different places: Track Changes, Markup, Reviewing, etc.
