I checked the template. The blue is simple "shading" in
table cells. To change it, put your insertion point in the
blue cell and use Format>Borders and Shading | Shading.
But *wait.* Before you pick a new color, make sure
the "Apply to" drop down list (below the preview area)
shows "Cell," otherwise you'll shade the whole table with
your new color.
If you want to change the picture in the upper left corner
to match your new color scheme, either insert new clipart
or edit the colors of the existing clipart. To do this,
select it, choose "ungroup" from the drawing toolbar and
change the blue pieces to your new color. [When you
ungroup, it may pop out of the cell, but don't panic, just
de-select it, select and edit those pieces you're editing,
then regroup the whole thing and drag it back.
The "Layout" formatting of the picture is "In front of
text," should you wish to restore that editing].
With regard to the NL[XX] styles, suffice to say styles
are an important part a "template." Learn about styles and
templates and save yourself much angst.
