Need help understanding limits/capabilities of vCalendar into Outl

I have an app that I want to use to create a vCalendar file for individuals
to use to add meetings onto their calendars. I know how to create a
vCalendar file and can import meetings that way. What I'd like to know is
what are the limitations of the vCalendar within Outlook. For example, can I
change a meeting using vCalendar files? If so, how? Where can I find that
kind of info on microsoft.com? Are there any other resources (websites,
books, etc.) that are significantly useful in finding this kind of info?
