Need help with Contact Selector infopath 2007

Hello
I have configure a contact selector on my infopath browser based form.Now
when the user says searches for my name on the pop up window the value
populated is Shah, Chirag which is my mail address.Now i created a workflow
which sends a mail to the person selected in the contact selector.But when
the worklfow is kicked its not able to send the mail.I did some debugging and
i found out that the value Shah, Chirag contains
a semi colon like this Shah; Chirag which i beleive prevents from sending
the mail.

Is this a bug with sharepoint workflow or i need to do something else for
making it work.
