Need Help with Making Address Labels with Data Merge

M

Miran

Hi Anyone,

I have done this before, but I downloaded the latest update to Office
2004. I have created my excel spreadsheets and cannot make data merge
help me with address labels. I would be better off hand writing over
250 addresses on mailers as I have put in over 10 hours of time and am
able to make address labels but 24 pages of labels only produces 8
addresses over and over again. Anyone with tips out there? Feel free
to email me at (e-mail address removed).

The entire process has aggrevated my back and so I will now go lie
down and perhaps some miracle will take place. Thank you for
indulging me.

Hi Miran -

My guess is that you went to Tools>Labels & clicked the Data Merge button
where the default in that dialog is "Full Page of Same Label". If you're
doing a *merge* use the Tools> Data Merge Manager palette instead & click
the button in the Merge section to Merge to New Document or Merge to
Printer.

late addendum--cc'ing to the poster's email (maybe--if Thunderbird behaves).

on the Data Merge Manager palette, when you hit the Preview button, it
will show the first page of labels. But you have to hit a Merge button
(Merge to New Document preferred over Merge to Printer) to get all the
data used, and actually get your 24 pages of labels with different
addresses on every label.

The Preview button is a big trickster--many people have been trapped in
this way, because it looks like you are all done when you get that first
sheet of merged labels.
