Need help with outlook please

I cannot use outlook at all. When I click on "Email Microsoft Outlook" icon,
it says "cannot start microsoft outlook. unable to display the selected
folder or item. could not open the item.try again". When I click on microsoft
outlook icon on desktop, it gives a message..."unable to open default e-mail
folders. could not open the item. try again".
When I click on ok...it asks..would you like to open default file system
folder instead. If I say yes, it open outlook but i cannot see calender or
email or anything...if i click on no...the program ends.
Please help me sort this mess out. You can email me the answer to
(e-mail address removed) as well.

Version of OL?
Use the Mail Applet, in the control Panel
1) Create a new Profile
2) Set up acounts - you will need your pop3 and smtp settings together with
user name and password, from your ISP

Thanx mate...I am at work at the moment...will try to do this as soon as i
reach home.
The version of outlook is 2002...any suggestions based on that.
