Need help with Word 2003 Web Page

Hoops

I've been messing with this for hours. I've created a Word Web Page for my
home page and it works fine. However, wanting to put a picture on that web
page, I inserted a picture and clicked on Web Page Preview and it's fine, but
when I typed in the URL and I go to the web page, using Internet Explorer
8.0,
all the text on the web page is fine but there is an empty box where the
picture should be with a little red box up in the top lefthand corner with a
"X" in it.

What am I doing wrong? I've created other web pages using Front Page and
other programs and never had this problem. I hope someone can help me
because it's driving me nuts.

Thanks in advance.

You need to upload the image to your FTP account or it will stay where
you left it: on your computer. How are you uploading files to the web?

I don't have those programs. I'm using MS Office 2003 and I have Office
2000, which has FrontPage, but I don't know how to install FrontPage 2000 in
a computer that is running Office 2003.

I don't really want to buy a Web Page Design Program because I probably will
never do another web page after I complete the one I'm working on.

Why are you using Word for a webpage? Stick to Front Page or Expression Web.

The picture is in the word document so it seems I would not need to place it
on the site, but I just tried it that way and it didn't work as well.

What I did is create a word document with a picture in it and saved it as a
filtered web page. I then uploaded to my web site using a program called
FileZilla, which seems to work fine.

Here is a link to the page if it helps:

Word is not the best web page creator. When you upload your site be certain you
upload your image folder.
Google has free sites.

The picture is in the Word doc but you're not putting that on your site, you're
saving from Word as HTML (a web page) and uploading that. The link you posted is to
an HTML file, not DOC.

When you save as jag.htm, Word will create the jag.htm file and a subfolder called
jag_files or the like; in it will be all the support files you need for the page.

You have to upload this whole folder, as a folder, along with its contents to the
folder where you uploaded jag.htm

Geez, it sounds like that may have been the problem all along. Expert got me
squared away, but I'll remember this one.

Thanks
