Need Help with Word 2007

I have a version of Office 2007 from my work, but I hate Word 2007 and want
to install Works with Word 2003. It won't let me. I know on my previous
laptop I found a place that let me disable Word 2007 & just use 2003, but
can't find that window anywhere. Does anyone know where I could find that?

Or - I have a document done in Word 2003 that I need to update, but every
time Word 2007 brings it up, it wants to put a red strike through the old
item and put the new info to the side. I just want to overwrite the old
item. HELP!

Word 2007 is really frustrating! It took me forever just to find the print
and save menus! :(

For the red strikethrough, it sounds like you have tracking enabled. In the
Review tab, click Track Changes to toggle tracking off. Ctrl+Shift+E also
toggles tracking on/off, as does clicking Track Changes in the Status Bar
(assuming tracking is displayed there).

When you say "It won't let me" install Works with Word 2003... what do you
mean exactly? Is there an error message of some kind?

While you can't simply "disable" Office 2007, you can remove it. Assuming
you're using Vista or Windows 7, in Control Panel, look for Programs and
Features. There, you should be able to remove/uninstall Office 2007.

Thanks so much for your help! I've printed off your comments and will try
doing that with W2007.

My problem is that 2003 is so simple to use. I have to keep the Office that
work provided me because I need Excel, so can't uninstall it all. My
previous computer had XP on it. I had Word 2003 on it first and then
installed Office when I received it. W2007 kept overriding 2003, but I went
into Office somewhere and marked a check box indicating I didn't want to use
w2007 and it never came up again - always defaulted to 2003. Maybe Vista
doesn't support that. Or maybe I should install Word 3 first again. Or can
Office be custom installed? The only thing I need from the stupid thing is
Excel! Thanks again for the help!!! :)
