Need Help Working with Sub-totals

G

Griggle

I have a spreadsheet that I have subtotaled. Now I want to take just
those subtotals and play with them: add them, cum them, %'s to total,
et c. to do a paredo.

If I cut and then paste, I get the whole list. Don't want all the info
- just want those subtotals. Is there any way possible to put just
them in a new worksheet???

Spent waaaaaaaaaayyyy too much time on this b/w yesterday and
today....:(

TIA!!!!

Hi,
if your spreadsheet is on sheet1, you could autosum whatever necessary, then
use sheet2 with the subtotals, linking cells on sheet2 to the cells
containing the subtotals from sheet1 to keep it tidier.
just type =sheet1A3 (or replace A3 for whichever cell contains the subtotal)
..

Hi Griggle,

One way,

- collapse the spreadsheet so just the subtotals are visible
- Edit>Goto>Special>Visible cells (or something similar)
- Copy
- Paste wherever you like

Normally when you do subtotals, Excel creates separate groups within
your worksheet. One should show just the subtotals, another the detail
etc.

If that's not the case, hide all rows EXCEPT the subtotals. On the
toolbar click on EDIT/GO TO/SPECIAL and click the box by VISIBLE CELLS
ONLY. Now you can copy and paste the subtotals onto a new worksheet
and it will only copy the cells that you see.
