I am working in Word 2016. I am half way into my paragraph and I need to add a special character in ,( diamond) .
When I go to insert it where I want it , all the sudden it moves it to the front of the paragraph and indents my hole paragraph. Ive tried everything I know and nothing makes the diamond (special character) stay anywhere I try to put it , unless its at the beginning of the paragraph. PLEASE if anybody could help.

There are many different characters you could use for a diamond. Without knowing which one you want or how you're trying to insert it, it's a bit hard to understand the issue. The normal way to insert one would be to use Insert|Symbol, then choose the appropriate font and scroll to the one you want (e.g. ◊ or ♦). Another way is the type the Unicode value (e.g. 25CA or 2666), then press Alt-x.
