Need help

Jim Toler

I hope this is the correct forum. If not, if someone could direct me to the
appropriate place for help, I would appreciate it.

I am using OS-X.

About a month ago, my high speed internet provider who is also my cable
provider, was down for about a week.

After that, I had constant trouble with Internet Explorer. After several
communications with Adelphia, we determined it was not my modem.

When I reboot my computer, there is an instant where a file icon with a
question mark appears immediately followed by the split mac face icon in a
square and it disappears. Then, the Mac Apple appears and the computer
boots.

However, after spending some time on the internet with Internet Explorer,
eventually it crashes and won't let me proceed on the internet. Also, my
e-mail - Entourage - is sporadic. Sometimes it works and other times it
doesn't.

I have run Norton but to no avail, checked my disc, fixed all problems -
which were few, and ran speed disc and defragmented my disc.

Any ideas on the Internet Explorer crashing and the icon with the question
mark when I reboot?

Thank you,

Jim
