ok can I upgrade from FP 2000 and get more features; my
ongoing problem is:

the tools (not enough) and discussion forums; I hate the
one FP offers; and I want to add one that allows me to
have many boards.

Upgrading is not going to provide you with the type of features you are
looking for. Many features that can be added to a web site are written in
JavaScript, so you really need do a search for JavaScript based functions or
look at 3rd party sites that offer services that you can add to your site,
such as the weather, maps, currency calculators, etc.

Also you need understand what JavaScript function will work in which browser
and version.

There are many 3rd party forum and chat applications available, but in order
to select one you first must know what OS your site is hosted on, and the
what scripting language and database is supported.
