We have a commercial software application that writes from a SQL database to
an access Database. Somewhere in their process, the application errors and
i see this error in the log: " The remote server machine does not exist or is
not available". it appears the error number is 465. Emails to the vendor
have not been productive.
It appears to me that this error is a MS Access generated error. We have
not been able to isolate any specific conditions as to when the error occurs.
Sometimes it appears the .mdb has completed OK. Other times, some of the
tables will exist, but other tables in the same MDB may be missing.
I hate to have to do the Vendor's work for them, but i really need a
solution, so i am asking if anyone could suggest things that they may look
for in their application that cause intermittant errors like this (it may run
for weeks with no problems).
Could there be a problem with how MS access is installed on our host
machine? The app and Access are running on the same machine.
Thanks for any productive thoughts (Slapping the vendor is not a productive
thought)
Thanks!
