Hello,
I routinely copy/paste data from our clerk of courts property transferr
website. I paste the data as unformatted text into a Word 2003 doc.
I need to reformat this text data for our classified dept. to enable it to
flow into a Quark doc.
Is there a way to auto format this?
Thanks.. mickey

Without knowing anything about what the text looks like and what formatting you
want, probably not.

If you can specify what characteristics of the plain text should be the trigger
to apply specific formatting, then the answer changes to "probably yes".

Before you tackle a macro, though, try the built-in autoformat feature. First go
to Tools > AutoCorrect Options > AutoFormat and set the options that may have an
effect on the text you're pasting. Then click Format > AutoFormat, click OK in
the dialog, and see what happens. Note that you can restrict the formatting to
specific text by selecting it first.

May I send you a sample of the data I need to format?
Thanks for your input... mickey

Yes. Send copies of the same material "before" and "after", with a description
what things you format in your manual method. Also mention any special
situations you've found in the data.

It may take me a day or two to get to it.
