Need password to access Entourage

R

Rita Geiger

I tried your suggestions and neither worked. I am really getting frustrated.
Do I need to call Microsoft or Apple?

Neither, yet :)

Open the keychain and find the items that are causing the problem. Delete
them, and let Entourage re-create them.

Please report back.

I opened Keychain Access and I don¹t know how to tell what items are causing
the problem. When I click on ³All Items² under the label ³Category² nothing
is labeled Entourage unless I¹m not on the correct site.
This is the list in the window:
Dashboard Advisory
com.apple.systemdefault (3 of these, one with an icon of a certificate with
a red circle and x inside of it, two with a key icon)
com.apple.kerberos.kdc (3 of these also with same icons as above)

When I click on one of the icons with the red circle, the box above the list
says, ³This root certificate is not trusted²

When I click on ³Passwords² under ³Category,² it has AppleShare,
Application, Internet. When I click on each of those, nothing is in the
window under the titles: name, kind, date modified, keychain

Nothing changes when I click in the upper left hand corner to unlock the
System keychain.

I¹m sorry I¹m being so dense about this but I¹ve never ever had to enter a
password or keychain password. I don¹t even have a password on my computer.

I thought I might revert back to Apple¹s Mail program, but it¹s requiring a
password, too.

I¹m beginning to wish I had never installed Leopard!!

This isn¹t at all how it should be looking.

First, make sure you are looking at the Œlogin¹ keychain a list of
keychains should be at the top of the left hand column. ŒLogin¹ should be
selected.

Then, in the right hand section, there should be entries for all your mail
accounts. They aren¹t labelled Œentourage¹ at all, but have the address of
your mail servers showing as their Œnames¹.

If you¹re not seeing this, I suspect something is goosed in your Leopard
upgrade it may be time to start again!
