need patch for missing office icons

My office icons do not show (the applications or documents created and
saved)... Ive tried to repair office, check for updates, and even remove to
reinstall office, however nothing worked. When I tried to repair or remove I
get an error about not a valid patch package. This issue is with Office
XP... please help!!
