Need PC Maintenance Schedule for Our Office

R

Rizzocow

I'm looking for a basic Excel/Word/Access template that will allow me log
dates and times of when I perform basic computer maintenance (ie., Scandisk,
Defrag, Updates, etc..). I have an office of about 75 ws's. I looked on the
MS Office Templates site but can't seem to find one that fits my needs. Can
anyone help?
Thanks in advance...

I don't think that it needs to be very specific, just broad strokes. I wish
that I could make it myself but to be honest, I'm not a very creative person.
Maybe if I had some type of outline on how to create it I might give it a
shot. I just find it hard to beleive that I'm the only person that would need
a template similar to what I'm looking for.
Thanks for your input anyway JoAnne

try this - start with a list of machines, when purchased, what department
they are in, IP address (if fixed),software installed and dates, updates
applied and when, both OS and applications. just go on from there....

A simple spreadsheet is really all that's needed. Don't go nuts - you know
the info you want to see. think about what layout would work for your needs.
Start with paper and pencil (and an eraser ;-) ).

There is a service call management template available in MS Access2003.
File/New/
Select from templates on my computer.
Pull the Database tab and it should be there. If not, it is on the
templates website.
Just tweak it to meet your needs. You could also use the contact managment
one.

Keep this in mind -- there is no template anywhere that will match exactly
what you want... that's why they are templates. It means: start with this
and modify. Don't expect to get something for nothing... there will always
be work for you to adjust to your specific application
