Need some help solving a problem in Excel. I'm not
exactly an Excel whiz, so thanks for any help. I'm trying
to format a column of cells containing text of varying
lengths. An example of a cell would be:
TAXES T-1
To avoid entering more text than the label can handle, I
could use data validation & limit the number of
characters to a cell. In this instance I have to use a
fixed font, rather than proportional. Is it possible to
limit the "area" of the label, rather than the
characters? So far the only thing I've figured out is to
put a row of X's at the top cell of the column that match
the maximum cell width & use the column boundaries as a
guide.
Thanks in advance,
