Need some help with Hit Counters...

Ryan

In our environment, we have a staging server and the live
server. We publish using http. Anyways, we cannot use
Frontpage built-in hit counters. They work on the
staging server, but after the files get published they no
longer work on the live server. Using FP 2003, with FP
Server Ext 2002 on a Win2000 server. Anything I can try
to fix this? Thanks

Oh by the way, this all stopped working when we moved the
Internet live server into our DMZ. When our Internet
live server was internal, everything worked fine.

Open the live site on the live server.
Remove the hit counter
Save the page.
Reinstall the hit counter.
Save the page.

Open the page in code / html view and check the path for the counter. ( and the hit
counter image if it's a custom image )

It should start out like this <img src="_vti_bin/fpcount.exe/?Page= ( after the webbot
info )

Also, can you provide a URL??

Check the permissions settings on the _private folder on the live site and make sure the server has
permission to write to the folder.

It needs this to maintain the default.htm.cnt file for the hit counter.
