I need to know if there is a way of using microsoft project so that right before a certain deadline it reminds the person in charge of the task that the deadline is not far. Well basically constant reminders. Anyone?

If you are using Project Server 2002 or 2003, this communication option is
already pre-defined in the software. Each resource can define the events
that will trigger the sending of an e-mail reminder. Project managers can
also manage the e-mail subscriptions for their team members to include
reminders such as the situation you specify. This capability is not
available in the desktop versions of Microsoft Project, however. Hope this
helps.

Just following up - if you are using the desktop version,
you can run a report showing items due to complete within
your specified horizon. Then run it every morning or
whenever you wish, and distribute as you see fit. This is
not the automated process you describe, but may help. You
can do some VB work as well to launch emails, but this is
not out-of-the-box functionality.
