Need to add category members to a new distribution list

1. Using O/L Office 2003, SP3
2. Created the categories.
3. Searched by category to find members.
4. Followed the "create a new email" but it didn't populate the To, CC or
Bcc.

In the past, I know I have been able to find the category, then highlight
the members to add them to the distribution list, but I can't remember how.
Any ideas?

It seems so backward to try to send an email and then copy these people over
to a distr list. Also, WHY doesn't someone at MS come up with a way to "add
members" to a distr list by showing their category? Also goofy to me....

Did you use a By Category view or search for the category? If yo
searched, you need to select all, then use new message to contact. I
you use By category view, you need to select just the category header
