so any discussion please include this as the lowest common denominator..

What experiences have people had....
What addins or scripts are best

which methods make them show up best to search engines?

If you use javascript search engines will not spider the contents of
the feed. There is a good PHP script (free) at
http://www.feedforall.com/free-php-script.htm that will dynamically
update and allow search engines to see the contents.
