Need to catch up!!!

Hi All,

Due to a screen problem on my tablet I had been using the ole pen and paper
for a few months but I'm back now!!!

I am still using OneNote 2003 SP2. Am I way out of date for discussion in
this forum? There seems be a lot of talk about 2007!!!

Also - I really need to reorganise the folder structure within OneNote. I am
using backup within OneNote but would like to do something manually too,
just to be really sure. For example could I just make a copy of the 'My
Notebook' folder?

Regards.
Bill.

AFAICS there are still enough folks still knowing ON 2003.

But IMHO you'sd be well advised to make the move to ON 2007 as soon as
possible.
It's by far improved and working with the old version you are loosing
productivity day by day.

The new version has been abvailable a while for Voulume Licence
clients and it will reach the shops soon.
In the meantime you could bridge the gap by using the fully functional
Trial version.
It's available for download here:

ON2003 is still a supported product, so if you have questions or problems
with ON2003, ask away! I still run (but don't actively use) 2003 on my
Tablet for just this reason. Having said that, if there's an opportunity
for you to upgrade to 2007, I would highly recommend doing so.

You say "reorganise" but seem to be talking about backing up your "My
Notebook folder. Can you clarify what you mean? If you did mean to ask
about backing up, you can certainly archive or back up the entire
contents of your C:\Documents and Settings\{yourname}\My Documents\My
Notebook folder and that will protect the data. The internal backup
works well, but there's a risk of data loss if you don't archive the ON
Backup folder to another drive. I used to manually archive my ON2003
data to my network drive at work and turned off the built-in backup.

Erik,

I want to reorganise the folder structure and probably do a bit of pruning,
but I know what I am like, and there is every chance that I want to go back
to how it was!!! Hence the manual backup.

Bill.
