Need to clone some data from a form to a new record

I've got a really simply inventory database. I would like to give the option
to clone select fields of data (would always be the same fields) to a new
record.

For example, a person in the database has an old computer. That person gets
a new computer. We want to keep the info about the old computer, so just
changing the info with regard to the computer is not an option. We want to
be able to add a new record and have that new record already populated with
the info about the person. That way, all we have to enter is the info about
the new computer.
