Need to create a bar chart with variable column widths

I've been asked to create a [Mackel] chart. It plots $ on the Y-axis - has labels on the X - but he wants the column widths along the X to coorespond to predefined numbers. There is no predefined charts that do this with bar graphs. Anyone have any ideas how to accomplish this?

Visit Stephen Bullen's web site, http://bmsltd.co.uk, the Excel -
Charting section, and look for his funchrt5.xls example (I think that's
the one, read the description to be sure).
