Need to create customized table to automatically generate

I

info

Hi (and thanks for your help).

I need to create a 5 column, 6 row (with top row split on
the 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th columns) table for inclusion in a
template that can be automatically applied (preferably
using a style) by the user.

The table also needs to include 3 different text styles
and specific cell spacing.

They want it to automatically generate, and then be able
to click in each cell to fill in text and have the varied
text styles automatically work in the different cells.

They also want every other row to be shaded, but not the
header row that is split in 4 of the 5 columns.

I am using Word 2003, however, I am supposed to make the
template for use in Word 2000.

They also want the graphic in the Header to Not be grayed
out. I thought maybe using a section instead of
Header/Footer, however, they have a different "additional
page" header and I am clueless as to how to make this work
from a template.

Thank you,
Lori

Well, to take these in reverse order, there is no way to have a graphic *in*
the header (that is, in or anchored to the header paragraph) not grayed out
when the focus is in the document body (except in Print Preview). As for the
table, the simplest approach would be to construct the table (including all
formatting), save it as an AutoText entry, and then assign that AutoText
entry to a toolbar button. If you want to make it really lappy, you could
put [Click here and type name]-type MacroButton fields in the various cells.
