Need to download Microsoft Outlook 2000 SR-1

I've been having problems lately with Outlook 2000. The trouble began when my
daughter brought home a computer that didn't have SP2 on it. She connected it
to our in-home network and our ISP ended up blocking my ability to send
email. We corrected the problem with her computer and they claim that they
have removed their block, but I am still unable to send email. I can receive
fine...just can't send. When I attempt to send an email, the error message I
receive says, "Unable to connect to the server. (Account: '
mail.comcast.net', SMTP Server: 'smtp.comcast.net, Error number:
0x800ccc0e)." I have already been through the Account Port settings changing
the Incoming mail port from 110 to 587 and back to 110. The Outgoing mail
port is set at 25. None of that has made any difference.
I would reinstall from my Office CD, but that CD has been lost for some
time. So, what I'm hoping to find, is somewhere that I can download Outlook
2000, using the Product ID that I have. Does anyone know if that's possible?

For the MS Office/Outlook 2000 updates, as indicated in your subject line.
you may need to manually download & update your applications. I do not
believe that the MS Update feature will automatically find/download/update
the version of MS Office. You can start here to find the updates that you
might need. Considering downloading/saving them to a folder so that you can
update your application in the future:

These will include many of the MS Outlook 2000 Updates.

For your Comcast mail problem, I have Comcast.net for my ISP in SE MI. These
are the Ports setting that I use for Comcast, found on the Advance tab of
the Account settings:
1.Incoming Port: 110
Box cleared for SSL connection
2. Outgoing Port: 465
Box checked for SSL connection
3. Timeout for Server, I have 5 mins selected.

On the Server tab:
Outgoing server:
smtp.Comcast.net
Check box for server to use authentication. Under the Settings button for
this item, make sure that you manually add the username and password for
that acct, if you are using some spam checking application.

Are you properly authenticating to the outging server?

Please accept my apologies for the long delay in responding to your email. I
really do appreciate your help in solving my problems with Outlook 2000.
Changing the Incoming and Outgoing Port settings worked like a charm for two
of the four identities that I have in Outlook. However, it didn't occur to me
to mention that I have two more addresses that are associated with websites.
Like the previous problem that you helped me fix, these two addresses will
not allow me to send mail, which they used to do with no problem. And one of
them, which is now associated with Gmail, won't send or receive. I've tried
some setting adjustments sent to me by that web hosting company, but they
were no help. If you have any suggestions at all, I'd be grateful for your
input. Thank you again for your help with the previous issues. And, here's
wishing you a Happy New Year!

1. For the account that is now associated with GMAIL, you may need to go to
the webmail interface sign into that acct, under the acct's options, there
should be a section about forwarding messages, you will need to open that
section, and select to enable forwarding the messages, there should be
server settings there.

2. Now if #1 doesn't fix your GMAIL acct, and you can do this with the 4th
email acct your having problems with.
a. Open Outlook> TOOLS> Accts> Select Mail acct tab> Select one acct at
a time> Select Properties button> Server tab> In the b. Outgoing Server
(SMTP) settings, type:
smtp.comcast.net
c. Also check the box that states that the server needs authenication>
Press Advance button there.
d. Select to use the following settings.
UserName: Put your Comcast UserID for a Comcast email acct.
Password: Put your Comcast password for the above Comcast email acct.
e. Now on the Advance tab for that acct:
In the Outgoing Port setting use 465, or 587.
Check the box to use SSL encription, if the box under Incoming Port is
unchecked leave it uncheck.
Also change the timeout setting to the Max. 5 mins I believe it is in
Outook2000.

3. Then you can do the same for the other acct you are having problem with.
You should not have any trouble piggy backing off the Comcast server,
because you have an account with them. But be aware that there might be
limitations about sending bulk or commercial email out over their servers if
you do not have a business acct with them.
